Comeback.

Ok so it's been a long while since I last posted anything worthwhile here. But anyways, here I am and I'll be talking about the big issues that surround me right now.

Who am I rooting for in the NBA Playoffs?
Well now that my LA Lakers are out of the picture, I'm currently rooting for Chicago in the East and Oklahoma City in the West. Realistically speaking, Dallas will most likely come out as the Western Conference champ. Hence, I will be rooting for whoever wins the East, be it the Bulls or the Heat. Anyways, LeBron James has always been my second favorite player behind Kobe Bryant, but I want Chicago to win because Miami has been shrouded with drama the entire season and I don't like a single bit of it. But if fate would have it that Miami would win, no doubt about, I'll be cheering for the Heat in June.

Pro RH Bill or Anti RH Bill?
I am definitely for the RH Bill. I mean how can you possibly be against something that's beneficial to the poor and the rich alike? All the moral issues surrounding the bill is total nonsense. Anti RH Bill supporters have come with a lot of points (some actually good ones) as to why the bill shouldn't be passed but one really caught my attention. The Catholic Bishop's Conference of the Philippines and its hordes of followers call the use of contraception abortion. Let's think about it for a moment ok? How can you destroy something that's not even there in the first place. Abortion is defined as "the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus; spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation — compare; induced expulsion of a human fetus" (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/abortion). Basing on that definition, there is clearly no abortion in the usage of contraceptives as there is no fetus to forcefully expel. I really don't get how the big names who are against the RH Bill could actually buy this crap as it is not only invalid and illogical, it is humorous as well. For a more comprehensive study of the RH Bill, go to RHBill.org.

Did I believe that the end of the world was yesterday, May 21st, 2011?
A resounding NO. The Bible clearly states that the date of the apocalypse is known only by God. There is no way Harold Camping could have predicted the end. Besides, you'd be nuts if you would believe a man who has time and time again predicted the date of the end of the world and each of those times he failed... miserably. I seriously pity all those people who believed Camping and gave up everything they had -- good jobs, houses, etc. -- because they didn't need earthly things in eternity. Oh well.

How was my summer as an intern at DepED Iloilo?
Obviously I would've wanted to spend my summer the way I spent it the past 18 years of my life -- doing nothing. Well, anyways I had my fun in Davao last April so I guess all fun and no work can kill you. My experience as an intern in DepEd can be described by the following words: paperwork; paperwork; seminars; paperwork; food. Yes, that's pretty much what I did the entire 25 days I spent with DepEd. Do paperwork. It would seem that I'm wasting 25 beautiful summer days on paperwork. While that is true, the experience and life lessons I've learned in the office is invaluable and will definitely be of great help for me in the future.

School is set to start in 2 weeks. Am I ready?
Well yes and no. Of course I don't have to explain the "no" part. Nobody's ever ready for summer to end. How about the "yes"? I am kind of ready because of the fact that I am now a senior and regardless of my loyalty (or lack of it) to my school, I've always found senior year as awesome. I'm not saying I'm expecting it to be an awesome year for me, what I'm saying is that the fact I'm old now is cool. I don't know why. It just is.
